    Stock Donations
    There is no tax on the capital gain of publicly traded securities when donated to a public charity. The normal taxable portion of the capital gain is 50%. A receipt is issued based on the market value of the transferred securities on the day UJA receives them. However, the amount credited to the donor's campaign pledge will be based on the proceeds realized from the sale of the securities, less selling commission.

    Before donating securities, we need to know:

    The name of the shares;
    The exchange on which they are traded;
    Marketability of the securities; and
    The donor's contact information for receipting purposes.

    Credit Cards
    Donors can pay either in a lump sum or in multiple installments.

    Giving through www.ujadonations.com is the most cost-effective way to pay. Receipts are generated instantly and electronically.
